Introduction

At the well attended Annual Town Meeting in May 2007, pubic recognition and authority was given to the network of town's people, called Meridian Links, to form a Steering Group to produce a Louth Town Plan.

At this year's Annual Town Meeting in April, Meridian Links gave a short presentation to explain the progress over the year and to explain the reasons
for the Town Plan Questionnaire.

From 19th May until 25th June, hundreds of questionnaires each week were being filled in and returned by residents and businesses in Louth.

Background:
The Chief Executive of the District Council formally gave his support in early 2007 and the idea had already been supported fully by the Town Council from the end
of January 2007.

By April of the same year, East Lindsey District Council showed their support by funding this web site and ‘Community Lincs' by a grant deposited with the Town Council to cover
¾ of the expected costs of the process.

Future: It will be a Plan designed to address most of the issues that are important to the Louth community and more importantly will look forward to how people of all ages - living, studying or working in our community - would like to see the town of Louth shaped and developed over the next 10 years or so.

So … a big challenge; requiring a lot of work, to ensure the task is done well and that the Plan becomes widely acknowledged as a key document when decisions about Louth are made.
